New World Cameroon Coming To Market

The New World series from cigarmaker A.J. Fernandez is getting a new addition: New World Cameroon Selection. As the name suggests, the cigar is covered in a Cameroon wrapper. The binder and filler consist of Nicaraguan tobacco from Fernandez’s farms in Estelí, Nicaragua.
The New World Cameroon marks the first time the company has ever released a cigar with Cameroon cover leaf. According to the company, having a Cameroon cigar completes its portfolio.
The new line comes in seven sizes: Petit Lancero, measuring 5 inches by 38 ring gauge; Short Robusto, 4 by 48; Corona, 6 by 46; Robusto, 5 1/2 by 54; Toro, 6 by 50; Churchill, 7 by 48; and Torpedo, 6 1/2 by 52.
The cigars will come packaged in boxes of 20 and retail from $5 to $7 each.
New World Cameroon Selection brings the New World series up to four versions: New World Puro Especial, which contains Nicaraguan tobacco grown only in Estelí.
At the moment, the New World Cameroon Selection cigars are sitting in an aging room inside Fernandez’s factory (Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez de Nicaragua), but the company told Cigar Aficionado that the new brand should be hitting shelves by Thanksgiving.
