Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real Nicaragua Shipping in March
Altadis U.S.A. has once again called on the talents of cigarmakers Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real. The new expression is called Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real Nicaragua, and it’s rolled entirely with tobaccos grown on Fernandez’s farms in Nicaragua. The cigar is slated to debut at the Tobacco Plus Expo convention in Las Vegas later this month and will start shipping to cigar stores in early March.
“[A.J. Fernandez] and I have worked on this blend for over a year and a half,” Nodal, head of product capability for Tabacalera USA told Cigar Aficionado. “It is more complex and fuller in body than the original Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real made in Dominican Republic, but not too strong.”
Reserva Real Nicaragua will come in four sizes: Toro, at 6 inches by 54 ring ($9.03); Robusto, 5 by 50 ($8.77); Magnum, 6 by 60 ($9.96); and Churchill, 7 by 50 ($9.30). The Toro, Robusto and Churchill ship in 25-count boxes while the hefty Magnums are packaged in boxes of 20.
Nodal and Fernandez have collaborated many times in the past, creating cigars such as No. 10 Cigar of 2019.
The release of Reserva Real Nicaragua marks the fourth time that RyJ by Romeo y Julieta was made with only Nicaraguan tobacco, but was produced in Honduras.
